Hi after the fall of bebits, my powermac 9600/MP (have beos 5.0 installed) hardrive died.
Was easy find almost all powerpc beos operating system isos, but beos powerpc software is very rare i only was able to get beshare and 2 o 3 apps. Even cannot hear mp3 or look videos because the be codecs are missing and in the past where downloaded from be inc web site.
Please can someone help me finding beos powerpc software i love to get my powermac back to its past glory.
Hi,
I have an archive of some beos software here: http://pulkomandy.tk/~beosarchive. You can use the search bar at the top to explore it. Searching for “ppc” or “powerpc” would be a good start.
I have the BeSpecific CDs 2, 3, 5 (for x86 only, came with the O’Reilly book) and 6.
They contain sharewares, freewares, sources, archives of the newsgroup and Developer mailing list for BeOS DR8.x upto R4.
I also have the Beware CD dating from 1999, with more “recent” stuff.
I’ll share them this week or the next.
lorezan, could you upload photos of that CDs? Which O´Reilly book come with them? The Adamation CD you mentioned before, came with that book? Which programs are recorded in the Adamation CD? Would you be so kind to upload a photo of the Adamation CD? Thank you very much!
All the BeSpecific CDs were made by the company Adamation.
The fifth disc was bundled with the O’Reilly book “Be Advanced Topics”.
You can find scans of the discs and booklets, and list of the programs included on the disc 2(PPC), 5(x86) and 6(only for x86 as I couldn’t access the PPC partition at the time, runnning an old DR version of BeOS on my BeBox…) at: http://lorezan.free.fr/collection/be/BeSpecific/
