Hi there I just restarted my haiku box after a few weeks away and I’m getting an error when I try to update. I get the error that the repository is not found and the server is not found.
Is there a setting I need to change to update?
I have also troubles to update for the last two weeks. Sometimes the server is reachable for a little while then disappears again. 
I guess there’s something wrong with server or redirection as it doesn’t happen with others.

Good that it isn’t impacting everyone; it may help solving the problem.
All I can add is that, in my case, accessing the forum or Haiku website via Web+ is working. So it’s doesn’t seem a connexion problem.
I have same behaviour on different installs on USB or in VM.

Me, from Europe/Hungary , cannot have same issue actually …
I could connect to all repos - as you can see below - and even update one pakage - less - from Haikuports
→ I use DNS nameserver of my ISP
→ My update routine - below - consisting
pkgman refresh && pkgman update && pkgman full-sync

Previously I had set as first nameserver
1.1.1.1
that came from Linus* (not Torvalds ! 
) who stated :
set this up / using this … would accelerate ANY network connection (!) …

Add DNS Host 9.9.9.9
That fixed my issue. For some reason the eu.hpkg.haiku-os.org host name is not liked by my ISP’s DNS provider.
Hi folks, seems it was a temporary problem… maybe as stated above it was the provider’s DNS problem or something…
in any case, seems that the repository is online again.
Thanks for the help. Im also going to try 1.1.1.1 and 9.9.9.9 and test the resolution times…

Well, I wrote, used previously …
as once I shared so , and adviced to use it, but answer from Adrien (Pulkomandy) highlighted that owner of 1.1.1.1 is Cloudflare …
I don’t like them for their annoying checks and often blockade to use the sites which settled on their service … independently by OS or browser, just decide upon supported yet or not.
Anyway, if you do not feel bothered by this, and the fact that they have data what you visited, then use 1.1.1.1
9.9.9.9 is owned by IBM - I know as ex-IBMer.
9.x.x.x as A grade IP domain is owned by IBM.
Unfortunately in Haiku commandline
the whois command
not compiled / implemented yet,
and had not found in the HaikuDepot as well, so
I cannot provide a proof about them - actually, as I have Haiku only , also actually

There are many free public DNS services.
I personally also wouldn’t trust Cloudflare very much,but hey,at least it’s not Google (is their shitty surveillance DNS thingy still that popular nowadays?)
I’ve often recommended Dismail in the past and still do so,it’s a small personal project,not a megacorporation,their servers are in Germany and they don’t store logs.
As a nice bonus,they block ads and trackers,which is more important on Haiku than anywhere else,considering that we still don’t have a Adblocker addon for Webpositive.
