Haiku R1Beta x86_64 -- 2026 -- Small, stable fixes, improvements before a new Beta release

Ahoy devs,

I wanted to create a new thread where we could ask

to consider to add some minor fixes/improvements

to Haiku Betas BEFORE NEXT Beta RELEASE.

I know you do so automatically as well

- this way we have + [number of patches applied after new release] -

in Haiku Beta releases’ revision number.

I just wanted to create a place to ask for adding

smaller, but annoying

or

smaller, but visible fixes/improvements

that are consists in one-one patches – nothing that would risk stability or require multiple, system wide changes.

1.¤ Better - on my desktop : wider, due to more cores - icon of ProcessController on Deskbar’s Tray.

2¤ More fitting storage drive icons on desktop.
In Nightly finally the USB thumbdrive partittions which are not BFS, but FAT formatted
gets thumbdrive icons.

Interestingly , on Beta5 , the affected FAT partition still has thumbdrive icon in Deskbar’s
Mount utility’s list BEFORE mount activated

… however RIGHT AFTER the mount activated …
the thumbdrive icon disappears - alone there only - which was in front of
the disk/partition label … and the FAT partition appears as a DRAWER icon on Desktop,
as it would be a not removable, inner drive/partition.

That would be all for first time.

We already backport “fix only” things. This just becomes harder and harder the longer we don’t ship a beta, because we cannot test changes anymore.
