Haiku on Proxmox

It is supported. Using legacy BIOS mode is just, most of time, more convenient.
The installer doesn’t copy UEFI loader to ESP partition, you have to do it manually. This is true on bare metal as on VM. If you don’t copy them, the install media is necessary.

Unsupported was incorrect, sorry. I completely missed that there was a separate page of the manual for UEFI installs, and just wanted to see if I could get a VM booting late at night using a YouTube tutorial–I didn’t realize they were using legacy BIOS mode.

I’d still suggest adding a note to the Proxmox page (and any other page that covers installation) gently reminding the reader to check the UEFI Booting Haiku | Haiku Project page if they want to do UEFI booting. Until you trip over it once, it’s easy to assume this will just work as it does on Windows and most Linux distros.

But yes, that’s me getting in trouble for not actually reading the manual like I planned to.
