Haiku internals - docs (discovery)

Hi everyone. I was pleasantly suprised to see how good the internal documentation of the internals of Haiku , on Haiku’s internal website.
https://www.haiku-os.org/docs/develop/index.html

I was also pleasantly suprised to find external documentation by an Indian student group to document Haiku (Haiku OS Internals). I did not know this project existed, and it has also has good documentation.

For an open source project, Haiku is amazingly well documented

Thanks for digging that up, maybe haiku could mirror that page (i haven’t looked up the licence of this documentation), the page loads very slowly (at least right now, for me)

Honestly, this documentation is pretty incomplete. A lot of system internals don’t have pages in there at all, and could really use some. But of course there’s only so many hours in the day…

I love the effort put into it, but Haiku OS. I do love how easy it’s to look through.

IMHO it’s fine as long as it’s not Haiku. OS as a separate word is just an abbreviation for operating system, and it helps SEO, so it’s also used on the Haiku’s main site:

BTW, is the official “internals” website complete?

After taking a looks at several pages on that https://thejat.in/learn/haiku-os-internals place… seems AI generated to me. Or very poorly written, with lots and lots of repetitions, and meaningless fillers.

No. This used to be just docs in the sourcetree before it was made available online.

There is more work to be done there.
