Haiku crashes at boot with ntfs repair partition

As with any new system I come across, in this case my daughter’s new school laptop (mid range Lenovo, not the newest model but not shabby neither, need to look up the model but this seems to be more software/driver related), I tried to run Haiku on it (currently, of course, sadly, Windows is installed as the only OS).

After disabling the pesky secure boot, I was able to boot into the USB disk with Haiku beta5 on it, but sadly the joy was very short and I quickly landed in KDL.

I need to gather details, but it barked on the Windows repair partition. I got a crash in the ntfs driver.
Any thoughts on this?
I tried to boot in safe mode but had the same issue.

Just share the kdl image for now, afterwards we can tell you if more info is needed.

If you just want to get the system running, you can blocklist the ntfs driver from the bootloader menu until the problem is resolved.

Otherwise, yes, please make a bugreport with a picture of the crash.

I’ve got a laptop also hitting HDL on boot from the beta 5 USB stick. Will give this a go to see if it helps though I think it was an issue with not finding the install partition on the USB drive.

I’ve created a bug report now so we can track this:
