Ahoy devs !

Thank you for your work !

Personally for me …

—> anything that fixes / enhances USB bus/hubs/devices is very important for me,
as I have installed Haiku systems via USB bus, as actually I have Haiku installment
on USB thunbdrives only. My main system drive is big as thumbdrive - earlier it was
delivered only as external USB case as those are 512 GB size, so enough for any
purpose, even managing/storing large files with ease, but safety and accessing
with speed and handling them as their version should be processed and even reach
new features that basically potentially is/are in the hardware is valuable.
A very big thank you fixing enhancing anything
related to USB support and devices on it !

axeld merged some more of the commits working towards BFS resizing support.

It is long awaited development from my side. I accept that the downloadable installer image you keep on bare minimum, but I would like a bit fatter installer partiton to pimp my installer with customizations I needed for comfort when I would recover a Haiku system from
or install a new Haiku.

Thanks to developing this, and eagerly waiting the documentaion about it and its possible first limitations.

:cowboy_hat_face:

BTW, thanks to all who contributed bug reports, fix suggestions, patches, which were pivotal to the actual changes committed but whose names are not necessarily visible in the above list.

Actually (and IIRC [1]), mcedit shift+arrows keys selection worked since 2022 (with the switch to s-lang). What is awesome is that now we can have both mcedit and nano use those key-combos for text selection! (I had made a few “fix attempts” in the past, but none that worked for both).

I’m personally very happy with that, as it has been a mayor pain point for me for years. I’m really happy that someone like @AutumnMeowMeow, with actual knowledge/understanding of/on all this virtual terminal arcana, had took interest in Haiku, and has chosen to help it where they can. Very much appreciated, Autumn!!!

Wishing for that change to get cherry-picked into beta6 soon.

Edit: now… if readline could be patched to allow for shift+arrow-keys selection… one can dream!

Edit2: [1]

Seems I half-remember it, might have worked only after https://review.haiku-os.org/c/haiku/+/7241

great work for September.
The beta6 was not so good to release it that early, I had a lot of problems with it, but now everything works great.

Maybe a beta7 will be around.
More stable and without all the problems.
That why I do not want to buy a beta6 CD a stable CD would be great to have soon! Maybe at christmas?
Anyway the september was a lot a new things and improvements

Thank you all devs and wow, great work

With the recent ARM changes, can I boot Haiku on my Raspberry Pi 400 and 500 now?
