Haiku Activity & Contract Report, January 2026 | Haiku Project

This report covers hrev59262 through hrev59355.

PulkoMandy added some missing locking to the file panel constructor, fixing broken open/save panel appearances in various applications. He also improved the appearance of drag-bitmaps (for use in drag-and-drop) for files, though there’s still more work to be done here.

A good update! +1 for Netlify; my opinion of them went up a notch.

People sometimes complain about what they perceive to be the slow pace of Haiku development. They should read these monthly reports and marvel at how much is done by so few, and with so little time at their disposal.

Well done, chaps.

That is a nice move by Netlify, thanks

How can I enable and test the i2c driver?

It was a productive month !

Thanks for all the efforts to have more stable, compatible, net-capable (inet6), and nicer Haiku with a newer Beta and so on !..

I was curious how it will be added a change into the report, I’ve seen earlier on Gerrit Log view.

He also changed the package view to only allow single packages to be selected at a time, fixing an old bug.

Well, finally the bug was really old … it came up in HDepot when multiple packages selected to install .. however the fix was a simple, drastic measure .. although I must admit – very efficient : the multiple selection option was reduced to one package. This way the “bug” of ‘multiple package installation at once’ was finally solved.
But, of course , this only MY opinion/sight about it.

Fortunately in commandline we still have pkgman, that still capable to handle multiple package installations - at once.

It’s always nice to see a new progress report. Thank you for the hard work everyone.
