Haiku Activity & Contract Report, February 2025 | Haiku Project

This report covers hrev58584 through hrev58696.

jscipione fixed opening folders by double-clicking the “Location” column in query results in Tracker. He also fixed hard-coded values for certain menu item metrics, bringing them in line with standard menu metrics, cleaned up some parts of drag & drop support, refactored some of the drawing logic, made some fixes to add-on loading, and more.

Sounds like a lot of background work has been done.

Is the i2c driver in the nightlies, and is it coming to beta5?

waddlesplash reworked the “IA32 BIOS” bootloader to report the ACPI root pointer (same as the EFI bootloader), and to always use this in ACPI initialization rather than trying to re-find it.

I have a question for that, it’ll be minor question. would it help any 32-bit efi user to identify the problem? Like how bootloader take too long to booting until reach desktop/userspace on bootia32 (Or, can it add support for baytrail/cherrytrail user to boot 64 bit haiku with bootia32?).

I doubt it would fix any “takes too long to boot” problems, and it definitely doesn’t affect 32-bit/64-bit mixed EFI/kernel support at all.
