[GSoC 2024] Virtio Sound: Playback showcase | Haiku Project

Hello, once again!

We made it! I previously stated that we had achieved playback, but I never got to show it. So here it is, a short video showing you that playback actually works.

This is a companion discussion topic for the original entry at https://www.haiku-os.org/blog/diegoroux/2024-08-09_gsoc_2024_playback_showcase

Ahoy !

The file you are requesting cannot be found. Due to the recent redesign of the Haiku website, some pages have been relocated. You can Search for the information that you are looking for.

Works fine here.

Well I am on 64 bit Haiku Nightly actually
and clicking on [Video] button I get this friendly message.

First I tried to download as I thought the video is linked there, but I just got
a file with .mov extension , which were really a html link file that finally dropped me to the same message.

So, …
What should work ?
I just made my reply post, as the main object is the video that I could not achieve - nor by attempting to download (I prefer, especially I am browsing forum primary in Webpositive), neither clicking on the button.

Ok, then I accept it works - in my case - this way:wink:

The .mov file is a video file, and playback works fine for me in LibreWolf on OpenIndiana.
If I know right, video playback in WebPositive is currently disabled as it had major issues.
You can download the file and then play it locally,or try using another browser such as GNOME Web/Epiphany or Otter Browser which should all have working video support.

The forum software translates the link wrongly. The actuall URL is this: https://www.haiku-os.org/blog/diegoroux/playback_showcase.mov

Ah right, now I also see the issue.
I opened it from the website, where the link works.

Thanks for the link - I could download and watch finally.

Ahoy @nipos !

Yes, I know browser availability - this way I asked always about Ladybird as well  (I gather all browsers on Haiku)
and also that way I wrote I use Webpositive primary for forum and all the other Haiku related stuff.
Also this way I generally download videos in Webpositive, as I know which services would lack until Webkit2 had not polished by Zardshard and finally merged into Webpositive.

i wish i didnt open the video

Haiku never gonna give you up,
Haiku never gonna let you down.
