The last few days, I have been exploring with the idea of completing the ARM64 port of Haiku for GSoC 2024.

My own interest in an ARM port is driven by the (Arm powered) MNT Reform laptop, see thread . My aspiration is to run Haiku in a Virtual Machine atop Sculpt (Genode) so your proposed VM port would be ideal.
Stop Press: MNT launched a processor module for the Reform based on the same RK3588 chip as your Orange Pi. So if you do get Haiku running on bare metal on your SBC, I know a lovely laptop that is ready for it!
