Hi all,
This app was created to help users toggle between mesa and nebula GL drivers. I’ve found out the hard way that if you don’t do it in just the right order, Haiku will uninstall a whole lot of packages.
If you leave the app open it will reuse the previous downloads when reinstalling nebula, else it will download.
Looking ahead.. I plan to add a system tray and some other options but for now this is a good start.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed for everything related to hardware 3D in Haiku.
While I’m at it, I’d like to ask a few questions. I’ll start with something I read in your post: do the Nebula drivers not use the system-wide Mesa? How does it work?

To simplify, other Haiku drivers are not accelerated, so the system Mesa package is built for software rendering. To enjoy nebula drivers acceleration, the package has to be built differently but, it’s same Mesa version.
