Has someone successfully used the Mail application under Haiku (setup a provider account + send and receive emails) ?

I’m referring to simple text emails as I’m not sure HTML emails are handled today.

On my side for new emails :

  • Google account setup was only working on the sending side (with new sent emails not visible on the local “sent” folder)
  • Free account setup was worst, ie no sending possible due to authentication issue for SMTP. receiving not working also.

For the existing emails :

  • Google account : all emails retrieved OK from the IMAP server
  • Free account : all emails retrieved OK from the IMAP server too

Any successful feedback is welcome:)

Sure, it works fine for me.

But I have my own email server. : )

As for sending emails, it indeed does not save them to IMAP, only locally. Quite annoyingly so.

I have been using it successfully for years with GMX.

Works here with Mailbox.org.

I’ve recently got more success with Claws mail app and gmail account under Haiku, meaning sending and receiving emails is working as expected :slight_smile:

Will write a how to soon on Haiku Insider.

It means that the native mail app is having issues compared to Claws mail (not sure about the reason). I will try to double check again with default mail app to open a ticket about my tests.
