does haiku write to partition with real time mode?
i know lots of linux are not.
No, there is a disk cache and you can use the “sync” command to force writing things to disk. Applications which really need thing to be written to disk can also use various functions (such as fsync()) to enforce it if needed.
A complete flush is of course laso done when unmounting a disk (which is why you should always do that before disconnecting an USB drive, for example).
