Does Haiku run on this old PC with hardware acceleration?

Hi
I’ve got a retro Windows Xp machine that I can’t use because I can’t get Windows Xp to get installed on it with a USB flash drive, the specs are:
P4P800s-x
512mb of ram
Celeron-D 2.5Ghz
80GB maxtor HDD
ATI 9250 (Radeon R200)

I used it to play retro console games on it using Retroarch and standalone emulaters, can I install Haiku and enjoy having hardware acceleration on it? retroarch requires it otherwise it’d be too slow to be usable

From the information that I have gathered, there is no support for hardware accelerated applications. So no, your games won’t be able to use the gpu. But your gpu seems to be supported by the radeon driver so you will probably get modesetting support.

Retroarch is to slow compared to standalone emulators.
For 32bit use Bsnes and or Zsnes for good speed to play Nintendo games.
