Nor should it be, it’s best to keep the amount of “official” channels to a manageable minimum.

Most projects that used Freenode are now on libera.chat, its spiritual successor. This is due to… a heated fallout within the staff members.

Yes, and we were one of the early projects to leave Freenode, at the time, liberachat was barely set up. So we used OFTC instead, which has existed for as long as Freenode and is also hosting various opensource projects (things like Debian, OpenWRT, Freedesktop, …)
