Since i was bored, I decided to make a beta 6 disc print. Its based off the original alpha installation CDs.
Note that this is a VERY SIMPLE TEMPLATE and that the final product should NOT look like this officially.

Lookin good, though I won’t use it. I download, burn and then label the DVD with a permanent marker pen. That suffices me.
We have the wonderbrush files for the beta 1 visuals (the last time we made official printed DVDs). They are in the artwork git repository. You can use these for your homemade CDs as long as you burn the official release image or if it’s only for your personal use (if you burn something else and redistribute it, trademark restrictions apply).

Can you make a version that is September 2026? I’m not sure we’re going to make the August release date at this point. We’re close but we still have a few bugs to resolve.

Its a template. It’s not meant to be used officially. It’s just to be an idea for the team if they decide to make a new iteration of the original alpha 1 - beta 3 installation Disc format. But i think if they DID use it as final art, it wouldn’t be as good looking as the original installation discs. So it’s a template. not official, not meant to be final art, just a template.
If we make something we will use the usual design, so I’m not sure what’s the point of this topic then.

We’re not going to create any official DVDs for r1b6 and probably not for any future release until the R1 final release. If we want to provide something semi-official for people to use on their own what you’ve produced looks pretty good to me. Can somebody point me what the R1B1 DVD artwork looked like so I can compare them?
People are already wierded out that I still own a DVD drive.
I guess branded USB thumb drives (that are repurposeable to something usefull after the fact) could work. Say USB3 sticks of 32GB capacity or something.

I think it is significantly better than the “template” here? It also comes with visuals for the cardboard sleeve. Earlier allphas had different formats which can also be reused for different size of boxes and packaging that were used over the years.

Last time I made the DVDs on my own and shipped them. I finally exhausted my stock of beta 1 DVDs so I may do that again, or someone else may do it if they want to. As long as in the end some part of the money gets donated to Haiku inc, it seems a good idea. Even if few people have actual use for a DVD these days, it was a good conversation starter, I sold some to my colleagues who wouldn’t otherwise think of donating to Haiku, etc.
And if we don’t do it, someone else will sell DVDs on ebay, probably taking some money and not forwarding it to Haiku inc.
My advice is just to do smaller runs. I had ordered 1000 DVDs and that was clearly too much. 250 to 500 should be fine. But under 500 you will only get DVD-Rs, while I did order actual pressed DVDs.
Thank you for posting the artwork, yes that does look better than what OP posted. Perhaps the only thing we might change is that we could make the image yellow instead of blue to differentiate beta6 from previous releases, or not it’s fine being blue as well.
Nobody decided that we’re not doing an official DVD release but we didn’t do one for r1b4 or 5 so I assume we’re also not planning one for beta 6 or 7. If someone would like to step up and produce an official DVD image for this release I would not be against the idea, but we don’t need it, we can release without it. It would be nice to have something to pass out at trade shows.
