Hello, I am trying to install Haiku OS and need to know does the ISO image have to be “mounted” to the disc?
Or can I just burn a data copy of the OS and it will boot when I restart?

download a iso image. burn it on a cd and then start up booting from cd.
Hi lilldorin does it need to be a DVD-R or CD -500mb disc?
Burn ISO to the CD:

Put Anyboot image to USB stick:
https://www.haiku-os.org/guides/installing/making_haiku_usb_stick/
Make sure to use newest Nightly build, (the old Alpha 4 download is severely outdated):

I think currently the nightly Haiku images are below 400 MB.
