Hi all. After intially doing some small amount of documentation a good 6 months or so ago I’ve not kept up to date too well with much of the BeOS community. Was just wondering if there is an ‘official team’ yet or any centrally organised activities? Currently doing exams so I may as well find something practical to do while I procrastinate
this is being discussed by the admin team right now… afaik we’re trying to bring this team up-to-date and get everything moving again
Righto then. I’ll keep my ears open for the time being, or if I get really enthusiastic I may try to pick up some of the GE summaries again (unfortunately lost the ones i’d done due to a reformat).
Heh, this appears to be one of my ‘regular 6 month’ postings. Is there any news on an ‘official team’ or some such group? I’d still like to get started on this area (especially seeing I’m trying to get back into BeOS once more). I’ve sent a tiny bit of my work to Michael for the moment. Failing an already set up group, is there any central area that would have a list of needed docs or tasks, or should I just dive right in wherever feels appropriate?

I put up some docbooks in src/documentation/, it still needs some doxygen integration though.
If you feel interested, be sure to read the end of ReadMe in trunk, it contains indications for generating docs.

A thousand apologies for not replying or conducting work in this area. No excuses. I realise that if anyone is going to take me seriously from now, after abortive attempts previously, I have to actually do something.
Im unsure if I can help in the area of integration or code style work. But content generation is something I can help in. Aside from posting a wiki for the glass elevator project in the last couple of days I was wondering if there is something else I can help with contentwise. Ie, something where I can just write docs rather than touch the mechanics of building the docs.
An idea: I noticed that the HaikuBook area seems to be incomplete. Knowing that there is issue with BeBook and copyright, is it possible to re-write the entire thing using the BeBook as a reference?
Im completely unknowledgable in the area of DocBook but I have used LaTeX extensively for uni work. In that regard, if I have an example few paragraphs I can probably chug along through tasks.

Yep, just checked it out and started playing around earlier today and saw this thread just then I’ll play around a bit to get familiar with it and give you a yell when I have something to throw your way.
Edit: Just caught you on IRC. So yeah, same thing anyway
