What is your opinion: Are containers/app-frameworks the future? Maybe Javascript with its many and powerful toolkits?
No. Not for us at least.
We’ve spent 20+ years building an OS with a sane and easy to use API, so that people can easily build light and efficient apps using that API, all apps can integrate together, look and behave the same, etc. We did not do this so each app can come with its own programming language, interpreter, abstraciton layer, rendering engine, and so on.

I just see people loving it. I personally am more the KISS principle and low level person. I’m just thinking that perhaps I’m totally missing the new hot thing that perhaps will be everywhere…
