I quite recently ported my application to Haiku and while it’s now available in HaikuDepot the name looks quite ugly. It’s currently named “es_de” but I would like to display the actual application name “ES-DE Frontend” in there instead. However I’ve been unable to find a way to accomplish this.
Could someone please let me know how to perform this name change? And to clarify I only want to change the display name in the HaikuDepot application, I don’t want to make any other changes to the recipe and such.
Another minor improvement would be to add a screenshot of the application as well in HaikuDepot, and this is also something I’ve been unable to do. So help with this would be appreciated as well!
Developers can be granted the necessary permissions for their own package at HDS. @apl can hep you with that.
To change the name of a package, you need to go into “Edit fallback localizations”, set the language to English, and enter the desired name at the top under “Title”.
If you prefer not having to bother with that, PM me one or more screenshots (small as possible) and I can do that for you.
Thank you for your quick reply! I’m not sure if it’s worthwhile to give me access to change the name as it’s a one-time thing, so if you could do it I would really appreciate it! And I’m talking about this package just so it’s 100% clear:
The name should be “ES-DE Frontend” in all languages, and I guess this name will be persistent even if I submit new updates/versions of the application?
As for a screenshot, I’m not sure if you add a URL or an actual image, in either case this is a 1280x720 image that is fairly small:
