Caution updating /installing yab with HaikuDepot

The yab-IDE version available is not right for the yab version. see:

Caution updating… http://yab.orgfree.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=19

Hi bbjimmy,

what needs to be done?
I just installed the newest yab-1.7.5-2 and yab_ide-2.2.4-1 that is in HaikuDepot. Using the “Build Factory” of the IDE, I do get a working binary. Should I just build yab_ide-2.2.5-1 and upload that to the HaikuPorts repo?

That can only work if the Buildfactory folder still contains the sources included in an earlier version of yab. The proper way to update yab requires one to trash the buildfactory directory … /boot/home/yab_work/BuildFactory and the yab-IDE settings file … /boot/home/config/settings/yab-ide/ide-settings. These are replaced the next time the IDE is run and insures that the latest source and yab binnary is used by the IDE.

In this case you will end up with a BuildFactory that will not build a binary.

Yes please, build yab_ide-2.2.5-1 and upload that to the HaikuPorts repo.

Thanks

Jim
