I would like to perform a bare metal installation of Haiku on my Dell Dimension 4700.
During the boot (via CD or USB thumb drive), when it starts looking for a boot filesystem, it scans all targets on my SATA and PATA controllers before giving up and not finding a boot device. I see errors about timeouts in the on-screen debug log.
System is a Dell Dimension 4700
P4 3.0ghz
4 gb RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 9800GT (I know this will only work in VESA - that’s okay)
Intel 915G chipset
Anyone else had any luck? Haiku works decently in VMware, but I prefer bare metal
