Can I edit the existing icons to create new icons?

Hello!
Myself, Venu Vardhan. I am a Sophomore from Amrita University.

I am currently working on the Weather App. I almost completed working on the issue #47
I started working on the issue #8.
Can I edit the existing icons to create new icons out of them?

I am newbie to Open Source but I am very much interested in contributing to HaikuOS. It would be great if anyone can help me.

Not just can, you should.
That way we are more likely to stick to one style.
