Build Factory - Currently Offline

Just posting from work … my home Internet is down at the moment, a guy is coming out today to fix the line … something about the junction box.

As soon as I’m back online, so will the factory. Sorry for any inconvenience.

In case no one noticed, yep it’s back up … sorry I didn’t post earlier … I was out of action myself at home with the flu. :x

I noticed. :stuck_out_tongue:

Last build was 08-05-2006… :?:

yeh the logs aren’t up to date … something was changed with the Haiku hosting site and I’m just waiting on a new password to access it.

As for the image builds, they haven’t been building due to some issue with the current code. I think it was USB from memory. I looked at the logs the other day.

Hope to have it up in the next day or 2.

I believe the new netstack stuff broke the build for me - but it should still work if you delete the whole generated folder and start fresh (I hope) - does your build script remove the entire "generated" folder before building?

Ah yeh … appears to be the new netstack …

I tried wiping my source tree and getting the source fresh but that didn’t fix it. I wonder how schmidp.com are still building their copies …

You’ve not updated gcc, have you? You -need- the one off BeBits now or else the net stack won’t build

Yes, MYOB is correct - in order to fix all my build problems, I needed the 060710 version now:

http://bebits.com/app/4011

and also probably want the new jam from buildtools (it has a new spiffy jam version string even!)

Hopefully this thread will help others

sweet …

yeh I went to update the box last night but I couldn’t get on the net … I think my NIC is borked. I’ve grabbed a new one today, so I’ll install that tonight.

hrmmm … it’s not looking good … when the Build factory runs it’s Haiku script now with the newer gcc … it crashes and brings up the BeOS debug window :frowning:

Are you running the last jam as well? jam -v should output this:
Jam 2.5-haiku-20060813. OS=BEOS. Copyright 1993-2002 Christopher Seiwald.

Although I wouldn’t think this would cause the debug window.

yeh I’ll check that as well … I got my fiance to switch the machine off earlier and I’m doing a “svn cleanup” on it atm … when that’s done I’ll look into at jam.

I do apologize for the delay in getting this fixed … but believe me, I want it working again ASAP.

okay the latest is I’ve now setup a new machine.

  • Setup the GCC
  • Downloaded the full source
  • Created the New Jam from buildtools (thanks urias!)
  • configure and jammin’ right now …

it’s probably going to take some time … but when it’s done I’ll upload HD image to the mirrors.

well that machine was still building Haiku a day later … indicating that something was wrong with it.

So, back to the factory box, I got a new HD for it and spent about an hour last night reinstalling BeOS, its patches and all the goodness for building Haiku. I then left the machine to check out the entire source …

Unfortunately, it stopped getting the source about an hour after I went to bed and tried to build with that and of course, failed. So, this morning I fired off a "svn update" and got the rest of the source.

It has now successfully built Haiku and I’m currently (manually atm) uploading the Haiku image to my site and HaikuHost.com – thank for bearing with me on this. 8)
