## BirdNET-Pi

The goal of the BirdNET-Pi project is to create a fully automated system that recognizes bird sounds in the surrounding environment and uses them to generate a new visual artwork every day.

In short, this is how it works:

* A Raspberry Pi + microphone continuously listens for bird sounds.

* BirdNET-Pi identifies the species locally and stores the detections in an SQLite database.

* Every day, the Linux server summarizes the data from the previous 24 hours: which species were active, how frequently they were detected, and with what level of confidence.

* Using this data, together with the current weather, season, and time of day, an AI-generated image is automatically created, with its composition determined by the weighted bird activity.

* The date, name day, weather information, and the artistic style used are then added to the image.

* The finished 2560×1440 image is automatically sent to the Samsung EM32DX color e-paper display.

In essence, the system transforms the previous day’s bird activity in the local area into a new and unique work of art every day.

We live in amazing times. 🙂

So, this is my old fellow’s FB sharing - he included some daily visuals as well.
