Beta5 on Optiplex 7050

Just reporting, I was about to trash this OptiPlex 7050 (at work, because it was not Windows 11 compatible) when I just happen to remember that I had the USB for Haiku Beta5, so I plugged it in… and OMG it worked great.

Boot into the USB and installed in a matter of minute. Struggle a bit on the reboot because the BIOS was configured for SecureBoot and no legacy option. It took me a few tries to find the correct BIOS setting but then it booted on the installed OS so fast

Everything works network, sound… I was amazed. I have struggled getting a VM going, this was a breath of fresh air on my return to Haiku

Just a fyi, we do support secure boot too  There are signing keys for secure boot in the installation USB, if you know enough about secure boot you can enroll these keys and have haiku boot in a signed manner.

Oh thanks, good to know if I try to do a dual-boot machine. I stopped searching when it booted
