Arora browser

Hi, I have been trying to get Arora running as per the DL QtHaikuDemopack. I DL to the Desktop and after expanding it, I have two folders on the Desktop named, apps and common.
When I go into the apps folder I see Browser, which I click on and then get a box telling me that six lib files are missing. I then find the missing files are in the common folder. So I then created a folder and placed both files into it. Still no joy.
I read were someone mentioned QMAKE so I tried that but it said not found, I Googled the prob but still no answer.
I know its going to be something simple, so any help would be as always greatly appreciated.
cheers,
Eddie.

you are supposed to copy those into the system folders of the same names… not on your desktop it works fine here

then you can link them into the menu if you like

cb88, thanks for your quick reply. I have looked in the Haiku/systems and tried to create a new folder(s) but cannot rename. Am I in the correct System folder that you mention.

cb88, Many thanks. I eventually worked out from your instructions. Again, thanks.

In general most “packages” created for Haiku at the moment are designed to just be unzipped into the /boot folder. They will then be installed in the correct place to be used. Obviously you figured this out for the QT pack, but it applies to other Haiku Optional Packages should you need to manually install them.

leavengood, Ok! many thanks.

Another question if I may.
The Arora browser seems to be text only, am I correct or have I missed something. If I click on a Newspaper I only get text the photos are shown as a box with a question mark.

When I used the test browser from the QT4 test pack (which I’m not sure if that is Arora) it had images and overall worked pretty well.
