[announcement] Gerrit forcing git protocol v1 temporarily

Good morning,

We recently upgraded Gerrit from 3.13 to 3.14 and ran into an new / unreported bug which prevents the “most recent” tags from showing up to clients using git protocol v2 (the default)

While we wait on Gerrit / JGit to investigate, i’m setting the server to only offer git protocol v1 to users. The only impact this should have is slower fetch performance. No action is required when we switch back to v2.

We’ll update back to git protocol v2 when the bug is fixed.

That would probably be the reason behind the issue with the nightly package versions being for example r1~beta6_hrev60299_6-1 instead of the proper hrev number. I mentioned the issue on IRC a couple of days ago and waddlesplash mentioned you saying that you might be able to look into it. I also opened a ticket on Trac about it: https://dev.haiku-os.org/ticket/20469
