Adding new software to HaikuDepot?

One tool I like to use for managing BIN/CUE sets with multiple BIN files is binmerge, which is useful for when I download such sets for various emulators, or want to be able to manage CD audio tracks out of older PC Engine or Sega CD games.

The tool itself is just a simple Python script and runs with no modification in Haiku. I’m kinda surprised it wasn’t available in HaikuDepot to begin with! The software is GPL licensed, and, as stated, runs with no modifications.

Would it be possible to have this made into an hpkg and offered on HaikuDepot? I want to be able to add it to my system path so I can run it from the terminal from anywhere, but as /boot/system/bin is read-only, I can’t just drop it in currently.

(EDIT) I think I just learned how to create HPKGs for Haiku, and of course binmerge is my first!!
Here’s the package available for testing: binmerge-1.0.1-1-any.hpkg - pCloud

You can put it in /system/non-packaged/bin/.

Hindsight is 20/20 since I’ve only just found that was part of the $PATH. :stuck_out_tongue:
