Accent marks and diacritics in Greek

Accent marks and diacritics in Modern Greek
(΄ ¨)
appear
when I use Pad or Pe
but not when I use
a web browser, Abiword or Calligra Words.

Those are apps that have their own fonts settings, right?
They probably set fonts that don’t support that.

you’re probably right,
as I’ve also noticed,
these apps only have just 3-4 fonts preinstalled,
by the way,
how can I add fonts in Haiku?

Best way is to open HaikuDepot, to select ‘view all packages’ view, then to search ‘fonts’.
It’s also possible to put some in /home/config/non-packaged/data/fonts folder though I never tried.

Ι downlowded Ubuntu, msttcorefonts and VL Gothic fonts from HaikuDepot.
On Calligra Words I can now use the Greek accent marks ,
but not on Abiword.
Anyway, problem solved.
The Greek accent marks can also be used on FocusWriter.

Correction:
Greek accent marks and dicritics
can also be used
on
WebPositive
&
StyledEdit

That’s the disadvantage if you use ports, they don’t have a proper system connection, so they can’t access their resources properly. If we had a native office, it would work there too.

Please contact the people who made these ports, maybe they have an opportunity to improve here (if this is also supported in the original programs).

And no, an adaptation of a port only for haiku makes no sense, since the next time the port is updated, it has to be entered again and again.

I checked it yesterday, they also work on webpositive and calligra works
Good news
