As I was playing around with beshare for a little while I was thinking to myself. Maybe a replacement for the currently aging file share platform for haiku where something slightly more modernized i would create the program myself, but like, I said, I’m not much of a coder. In fact, i’ve just started teaching myself the basics of c++ or even an alternative a decentralized to the haiku depot however, that might be a bad idea. When it comes to security but it could provide a platform for people to publish packages without the need of setting up a whole repository these could just create a folder on their desktop or on a partly broken raspberry pi and just fill the folder with haiku packages and people can downloaded and seed it like a torrent i also do apologize if i’ve already made a post like this before which I think I might have
There is already an AI assisted project called HiShare that a lot of us use. It has lots of new features and is very receptive to adding new ones.
Cool can i has link
nvm i have found it
Sorry about that, I should have provided a link. It had also occured to me right after I answered, that you were talking about using it as your own C++ learning project. Don’t let the fact that it is AI assisted deter you from that. You can probably learn a lot by diffing BeShare vs HiShare and understanding what changes were made. Also, while not all human coded projects accept AI assisted code, I don’t know of any AI projects that wouldn’t accept human written code. They will likely run it through AI for further analysis of the code, but that can become a good learning experience as well.
