I’ve worked with computers since the early 1970’s. Working at first with ASR 33 teletypes and Basic, to the IBM 1620 decimal (!) computer, to General Motors in Detroit with the Honeywell H-200 transistor system, IBM 370 mainframes, and a Honeywell 6180 Multics system (the system that inspired Unix). Afterwards to Honeywell Federal Systems outside Washington D.C. with DPS 6 minicomputers. From there to the Corporation for Open Systems working on Sun Solaris workstations supporting conformance testing for ISO network protocols. Next tp LCC LLC writing software supporting cellular network wireless telephony systems, and afterwards to Ericsson continuing with cellular networks.
Now I am retired and at home working with a Debian-based Linux system with Virtualbox supporting Windows, Freebsd, MacOS, Solaris, and now Haiku virtual machines.
I’m the first to say that since my retirement I’m not as sharp as I used to be, but I keep on trying.
I know this sounds like a resume, but this just isn’t the right place for prose about liking pina coladas and being caught in the rain.
