My name is Martin. I’m from Argentina . Long time computer enthusiast, I came across BeOS R5 Personal Edition in 2000, but had to leave it behind when upgraded to incompatible versons of Windows (Me and later XP).
Even though our time together was brief, I became fascinated with BeOS UI and user experience. I had to leave BeOS behind and around the same time, Be, Inc. went bankruypt.
I was aware of subsequent attenpts to resurrect BeOS, namely Zeta and Haiku, but Zeta was commercial and out of reach for me, and Haiku was forever in alpha. Plus, I didn’t have an Internet connection. Now, iwth a decent computer, my own stable Internet access and Haiku at least in beta, it was time to give this new incarnation of the beloved BeOS a new chance. So I did, and everything was so facinating as I remembered it. The magic is intact, and good times are back.
So here I am. It’s a new beginning.
