Will/Does Haiku Support Realtek Wi-Fi Drivers?

So I should be confident in purchasing this adapter then?. Curiously, it seems to be unbranded and it is from Hong Kong. Similar listings appear the same way too, do you consider it trustworthy?.

The last thing I want is to pay for a fraudulent product and waste my time.

This seems a tad better given it has some reviews: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Intel-7260ac-802-11AC-Wireless-AC-867Mbps-Desktop-PCI-E-WiFi-Adapter-with-BT-4-0/302123320301?_trkparms=aid%3D777003%26algo%3DDISCL.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140620091411%26meid%3D384d33a1671640bfb1c89dc3ff741aad%26pid%3D100009%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D10%26sd%3D232990318686%26itm%3D302123320301&_trksid=p2047675.c100009.m1982#rwid

They seem functionally equivalent to meā€¦ but the one you just posted Iā€™m not sure of what USB cable it comes with.

Ebay has buyer protection soā€¦ if itā€™s wrong you can just get a refund usually direct from the seller even.

Remember these are all made in china etcā€¦ anyway. So, donā€™t be afraid of buying something on account of that.

I see, in that case I might purchase the first one. Given that they ā€˜areā€™ all from China theyā€™re equally as ā€œhonestā€ in that regard.

If it will fit in my motherboard, Iā€™ll go for it!.

Yeah , this is the exact card you have now right? https://www.asus.com/us/Networking/PCEN15/

If soā€¦ i donā€™t see any issues.

Yep, thatā€™s my current card. Iā€™m moving forward with the purchase now, no need to wait any longer I suppose.

Have you thought about running in a VM? Where did you get with trying a new card?

@PCMan, @cb88, and anyone finding this thread in the future by Googling or whatever: the realtekwifi driver was updated past FreeBSD 12 in hrev52744. There were a lot of 8192CE fixes in the last two weeks in FreeBSD trunk, and these are all now merged into Haiku. So, you might have better luck now
