Hi, I’m newbie in Haiku. I used to use GNU/Linux, but somehow it was getting further than what I was looking for. Anyway, I’d really like trying Haiku on hdd (as of now I only used vmware), but two questions stop me:
-Will I be able to use my broadcom 4312 wifi card?
-Will I be able to use it with a wpa2 encoded wireless?
I read that recently wpa_supplicant was added as a optionalpackage, so what if I download a nightly?
Your Broadcom 4312 Wifi card should be supported* via the broadcom43xx module (ported from the bwi(4) Freebsd driver)
* don’t forget to install the firmware !

WPA encryption is still in an early stage, but it may work.

I downloaded the script you download to install the drivers if you don’t have access to start with. Ran it on another OS, moved the zip file it created to Haiku, unzipped to /boot and ran install-wifi-firmware.sh. But that utility actually gives an error when it comes to the broadcom firmware. Something about not being able to download b43-fwcutter-012.
So, still no wi-fi
it’s not supported. FreeBSD don’t suport it ether…
see this ticket, gose for 4311 and 4312
http://dev.haiku-os.org/ticket/6534
It works great.
Sadly I cannot try, I can’t even boot properly, don’t know why…
I have the same problem with the Broadcom 4312:

Haiku do not see the wifi network card - firmware has been installed.
Could someone add these ID cards to drivers?
The “haiku-development” mailing list would be a better place for this request.
You may also file an enhancement ticket.

But why new enhancement?
This card is listed as supported.

So I has been given a error:

Yes, I will.
It seems I have this one:
bcm4312: vendor 14e4, device 4315
So I’ll have to wait
