Finding some primenumbers, isn’t that just silly?
Well yes, at first that was my thought. Later on when actually understanding how primenumbers are used and why they are used, I changed my mind.
Today, the European Union will make a vote about storing all telephony traffic information as well as ALL e-mails sent in the EU in order for the government to become the true big brother. For me, and hopefully you, integrity is of great value, and it’s a democratic principle. Funnily the EU was founded after second world war to prevent a third one, but before my Eyes I see EU turning into a third reich that Hitler possibly couldn’t dream of at the time of his madness…
Primenumbers are one of the keys to powerful encryptions. Anything related to Visa Card numbers and encryption algoritms will highly depend on our beloved primes. By calculating higher primes, we open up a new world for stronger encryption keys which is “impossible” (meaning it will take more CPUtime than anyone can afford to buy). Encryption can also be used in Filesystems (making it hopeless for RIAA/MPAA or whomever it may be that knocks on your door) or E-mail, telephony etc.
Do you wanna be free? I assume yes, so start crunching those primes…
