I just wanted to find out who was maintaining Paladin now? I reached out to DarkWyrm recently asking why PalEdit no longer came with Paladin and he said he was no longer maintaining it. So I was trying to found out who is the maintainer these days and also to find out why PalEdit is missing in action.
I think Augustin removed it, I am not sure why.
Try asking here:
PalEdit was a fork of Pe. The changes have been merged into upsream Pe (if we missed some, let us know). So there is no need for a separate PalEdit anymore, you can use the normal Pe with Paladin.
Both Pe and Paladin are currently managed by the HaikuArchive team on github.
PulkoMandy,
The one thing that Pe is missing is the Project menu with the various compile and run options. I usally use that if I’m working with a single file. It’d be great to have that included in Pe. It seems that PalEdit was purposefully designed with Paladin in mind and probably vanilla Pe is not so optimal.
There are several older versions of paladin on BeShare. Extracting Paledit from that is not too hard, in fact I’m looking at it on screen right now. If you like, I can package it up and put it on my repo.
EDIT: rough initial version: https://www.dropbox.com/s/d5qbkc8tlyladqn/paledit_1.1.d0_x86_gcc2.hpkg?dl=0 Test that and see if it works for you.
Michel, I actually downloaded and installed Paladin on my Haiku nightlies install via DarkWyrm’s website. Definitely thanks for your recommendation.
