Where can I find BeOS R5

I made my first contact with BeOs a couple of months before they shut the company down.

At first I used BeOS PE but I wanted to install it “for real” on my computer.

I tried to get hold of a copy of BeOs R5 but ended up with a couple of e-mails saying it was no use to ask for it.

Is there anyone who can give me a hint where I can search for a, legitimate, copy of BeOS R5 (4 or 4.5…)? I asked this question locally in Sweden where I live without any results…

However, you can install PE. Onto a real HDD. As big as you want. And Pro has bugger all extra in it.

I found it for a price that felt affordable, shipping included, at purplus.com.

That E-bay auction was cheaper yes but I’m not really in to that kind of trade…

You could also download Developer Edition from Beosonline.com. Making the disk is a little tricky, maybe.

Or a BeOS MAX edition - both DevEd and BeOS MAX are based on R5 PE but CD-bootable and able to partition the HD during setup. Both come with developer tools already “installed” and both come with some updated driver support for newer machines.
