Website - User Haikus?

It would be kind of interesting to have a place on the Haiku website where people could submit their own haikus, similar to the ones found in NetPositive.
You could have them by categories like “Web Browser->Page not found”, “Operating System->Boot” and “Operating System->Shutdown”, and let people browse by category or view random, and maybe vote.
And then you could do something interesting with it, like offer a Firefox extension, or a Haiku theme pack, with the 50 most popular, etc.

Maybe there is a similar project somewhere whose code could be adapted to make implementation easier?

On a somewhat related note, haiku-os.org gives a rather drab error page for page not found. “The requested URL /notfound was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.”?
Come on, let’s put the “haiku” back in “Haiku.”

(On a less related note, when I tried to use Opera (8.5), to register on this forum, I couldn’t see a trace of the confirmation code. Worked fine in Firefox, though.)

Add some wiki pages!

Head over to

http://www.haiku-os.org/wiki

and set up the structure you think should be created… if the admins think it’s a good idea, maybe they’ll incorporate it into the new website… if not, at least you get a chance to express your ideas and let others join the fun

Ok, that sounds like a good idea, but I’m not sure where in the wiki that could go?

If in doubt, pick a spot yourself. http://www.haiku-os.org/wiki/index.php?title=Haikus could be a good start.
The wiki is open to contributions, and you’ll find people are willing to adjust pages if it helps. When you find a decision tricky, leave a note on the Talk: page (use the discussin link), and see if anyone can answer you!

Right, done. Please check to see if what I’ve done looks acceptable, and if so, please do contribute something better than my filler poems. My funny isn’t working today :frowning:
