Web+ - gmail and fullscreen YT HTML5 vids

Before I go and report these as bugs or feature requests on the tracker, If required, I wanted to try and get some feedback here.

I updated Haiku today and web+ got updated too. I was happy to see I can now play HTML5 videos on YouTube under web+ without having to use ubertuber. This wasn’t working the last time I tried it a few weeks ago so that was a nice surprise but I was disappointed I couldn’t make the videos full screen as I can when playing HTML5 vids under Linux. When I click the full screen icon, it makes the video bigger but not full screen. Is this a planned feature?

Also, the first web site I always try when testing a browser is gmail. gmail works fine under qupzilla (although it does moan about it being an unsupported browser) but I’ve yet to be able to even log into gmail using web+. As a result, I don’t really use webpositive as gmail is must-have for me right now. Is this a known issue?

Can I ask you a question? On UT are you able to log in? Do you get the whole page rendered? I do not get part of the page rendered, like the top part and the sides where you would log in and stuff. If I manage to put my mouse over where these things should be I can click it, but I can’t see part of the webpage.

Gmail is the same thing for me, can’t use it. It is a real bummer.

Hi,

These issues are known and I think there is already a bug report for the GMail problems (you can open a new one for youtube fullscreen support and rendering problems).

I could not get GMail working better, because in my test builds of WebKit it works fine. Only Web+ releases seem to have this problem. It has been this way for several versions and I can't understand what the difference between the development and releases is. This makes it very hard to debug the problem. The "classic html" version of GMail works, but lacks a lot of the features from the full version.

Done

@ Pulkomandy

I don’t know if you need a ticket about the parts of YT that do not render for me. But I can’t as after 3mo of trying to get my password reset for Trac and not getting it resolved I have given up on logging tickets.

I imagine you’ve been unable to get your password reset bcause of the ongoing issue with the trac mail server.

I’m surprised this has gone on for as long as it has. Haiku is only a small project with very limited resources and trac not sending email notifications for so long will have put this already struggling project back considerably.

There is an “haiku-sysadmin” component at Trac where problems with the mail server can be reported.

I have opened a bug with what I know about this problem, since, once again, people are complaining and no one took care of opening a bug yet: https://dev.haiku-os.org/ticket/12104

When you see a problem, whatever it is, please do open a bug report :)

[/quote] Could it be a timing problem?.. I had the problem with Abiword. While debbuging the archived dialogs didnt crashed... and while "running" normal/release.. it was "to fast" (and no errorcheck if the window was already created from the BArchive). Just an idea :-D.

PulkoMandy:

I reported the issue 6 weeks ago and posted a link to my ticket in my last post, which I can only presume you didn’t notice?

This is probably more a YT issue, but how do you make it default to HTML5 video instead of proprietary?

Got to youtube.com/html5 and press the button that says you want to be part of the HTML5 trial, that should be it!
