What i need for? is possible? blender 2.74
Hi,
The recommended way to do this would be using Haikuporter. We have some documentation about it available in the form of a 2-part tutorial: http://www.haiku-os.org/articles/gentle_introduction_haikuporter_1 , http://www.haiku-os.org/articles/gentle_introduction_haikuporter_2 .
There is a recipe for blender, but it won't work in the current state, it will need some updates to the current recipe format and several fixes. Your starting point is: "haikuporter blender_x86". Then it will be a long loop of watching it build things, fixing some issues, and trying again.
There is a list of dependencies available: http://bb.haikuports.org/haikuports/issue/84/blender-dependencies . as you can see there is quite a lot of them.
The last BeOs port was 2.11
The older versions were very usefull too. Only the videosequencer had problems as far as I remember!
Great software…
Blender build needs python3, which isn’t yet ported.
I’ll offer $100 (US) bounty/reward for anyone that ports Blender 2.74 to Haiku without the real time viewing, and another $100 if you get the real time viewing. Offer is good to the end of this year.
it can work in a hybrid version?
Maybe It could have more visibility if you put it on the Blender forums. Who knows, the Blender team might help.
why not using an older easier to port one?
So there is something to use until more people are interessted and are likely to help to port a brand new one.
Blender is very powerfull and big… to use an older version would not harm a beginner try using it!
Of course it would be great to have a brand new version of all software out there…
But I think Haiku needs software to work with!
Stable to use apps I mean… So people can try to work with Haiku… Not only programm for Haiku…

Users should be able to learn/work and use Haiku rather than just to test it!
… and why there is some unusable software like BeShare on HaikuDepot? There should’nt be any non working out of the box software on HaikuDepot!

An older version might or might not be easier to port, and probably would not be as bug-free as a recent one. The older version would be easier to port if it didn’t require some packages that are unavailable on Haiku, but if a version like that exists, then it would be a really old version in my opinion.

Haiku is still in testing phase (Alpha/Beta). When it’s released (R1), it should be as you say.

The team is working on a good solution to that.
Also, last time I checked BeShare worked correctly. Maybe you didn’t configure the server to connect to?.
Hi,
Also I can collaborate and to give $200,00 if someone to port Blender for Haiku and get the real time viewing.
Who is also interested could contribute and we will could to petition the Blender project a port to Haiku!
Maybe bounties could be added to Haiku website the same way it’s been done on Haikuware some time ago? We have at least one potential bounty already based on the comments above :). I also remember Dane from TuneTracker Systems asking for ‘Jack’ bounty.
300 $ wow this is comming very sweet
