VM on Haiku?

Has anybody installed a VM on Haiku? With Linux emulated in it? Ideally Qemu!

(Doesn’t need to be fast.)

Qemu works on Haiku indeed

Qemu works and is in the repos. We even have the aqemu front-end. Here is me running 32-bit Haiku in qemu under a 64-bit Haiku host.

That is probably going to be what gets me to install qemu.

On Linux I’m a big fan of AQemu. I often try obscure indie OS with it. Didn’t expect it to be ported to Haiku.

I still have to get used to the Haiku way, like for example

  • search Haiku depot
  • update the OS (& rollback if nessecary)
  • use the fast find “command”
  • Use the Applications menu
  • and more!

You can also use pkgman on the commandline, if that’s more convenient for you.

You have it as a real command too: query.

Already setup qemu to boot 32bit/64bit and riscv64 (in the (older) screenshot 32bit and 64bit, think I tried to run some Arch linux in qemu under Haiku, but that was way too slow experience IIRC.
