Unable to USB boot Thinkpad T480 with nvme disk

Hi there,

i try to install hrev-55970 64-bit on TP 480 from USB stick with no success.
BIOS: secure boot: off, UEFI boot: first UEFI then legacy.
the machine has windows 10 installed, with some free space on the harddisk.
the stick boots fine on other thinkpad (t450).

the haiku logo with the 7 icons appears, but none of the icons get highlighted.

next try: enabled debug on screen option in boot menu: same story, haiku logo with 7 icons, no debug output.

next try: checked the last boot log via boot menu: lot of entries …, but no apparent error for me. where does he write this syslog to? is it on the stick, that i can access it on another machine, and upload to the forum?

here my lsblk -f output:

Have you checked the Bug Tracker of Haiku for your problem?

If not make a bug report on Haiku Bug tracker (haiku-os.org). This address is the better one for problems.

@ lelldorin
i did a short search in Tracker, but could not find anything appropriate - and - without a debug log a bug report wouldn’t be of much use, IMHO.

Thus the question, whether the syslog is saved somewhere, if i boot from usb.

System Logging | Haiku Project (haiku-os.org)

@ lelldorin

booted on another haiku machine, inserted the original usb stick, the directory /Haiku1/system/var/log is empty - no syslog file.

ok, i will create a ticket in bug-tracker

thank you for your help

created ticket 17691

Please check if writing syslog is enabled on the boot menu options

Select debug options / If Enable debug syslog is

Hi Sepp, have you got a luck with t480 ? Can you try to boot with the latest nighly build ?
