[Solved] LibreOffice crashes directly after opening file

I installed latest haiku 64bit on usb enclosure and boot it from there with efi on my lenovo x270. It works fine. Installed Libreoffice, the install wnet without any error. But when I open a new document it crashes diectly after loading and showing the document on the screen. Did some search and seems that error is related to this:

libreoffice: component manager fail (unoidl::FileFormatException for types.rdb: cannot open legacy file: 6) on Beta 6

As I understand it happened qt related with latest haiku update, Hope I posted it here on the right place, thanks.

Crashes like these should be reported at haikuports issue tracker:

EDIT seems to work here:

You wrote that Haiku is installed on a usb flash drive. Hence the first question - how much space is left on the system disk after installing LibreOffice? I suspect almost zero.

I looked more to it and its is only the writer and the spreadsheet that crash when they startup and open a new document, the other applications like draw, impress… load without issu

solved

  1. Launch LibreOffice to its main start center screen (do not open a Writer or Calc file yet).
  2. Go to Tools → Options → LibreOffice → View.
  3. Uncheck “Show preview of fonts” (or Font Preview).
  4. Click Apply and OK, then try opening a Writer document.
