Silence us whiners!

Could I suggest making a prominent link on the main page, maybe titled “up-to-the-minute project news”, to the CIA stats page? I for one pretty much glossed over that news item when it came out, but for all the people wanting to see concrete progress, this might help.

Thanks,

Kev

Yes, great idea. Maybe titling “Latest CVS Checkins” would make more sense - if people don’t understand what a CVS checkin is, they’re never going to understand the commit logs anyway.

You could even try and pull the last few commit logs into the main page; although I’m not quite sure where it would fit.

I really like this idea, too. But I’d like to suggest that the new link be titled “Latest Code Contributions” (or something similar). This would tie in well with the verbiage used to title the “Contribute” drop-down list box on the homepage, and is more accessible, i.e., less “jargonish”, than mentioning the current code repository utility by name.

Is there a way on CIA to read checkins that one may have missed overnight? I only see the latest 20 or so checkins, so I miss stuff occassionally.

I like this the best. Jargon labels would be ignored by the same people that aren’t making it to the CVS logs in the first place. Once there, they may not understand what’s happening, but they’ll see that progress is being made.
