Why is the scrollbar always on the right side of the window? When surfing I often engage site with adds on the right side then I would like to put that part outside of the desktop area and still have a scrollbar.

Maybe it’s a language orientation reason ? Do right-to-left localised OSs have scrollbars on the lefthand side? (such as Arabic, Hebrew; at their line endings). TBH, I’d love to know the reason, even if it’s just historic.

Yes, most of the UI including scrollable windows should be flipped right-to-left for these languages.
I’ve seen on Israeli sites the down arrow in dropdown boxes is also on the left side. Very strange the first time I saw that…
