Can somebody maybe post more screenshots from the Haiku?
Considering its currently command line, theres not a huge amount to see…
http://darkwyrm.remor.com will have some of the screenshots of the app_server under development.

This goes back to the theory that screenshots, even if they look identical to R5 - are an important psychological benefit to the project - it allows people to “see” the progress as opposed to hearing about it and reading about it.
But it doesn’t look like R5. It looks like a white screen with some black text in it. The parallel development aspect of Haiku means that once things start coming together (they kind of are doing already) we should jump from the console OS we have now to a full fledged, app-server-running, tracker-running, media etc working OS fairly quickly.
When we reach that point, screenshots will be posted for sure.

I was kind of referring to some previous threads where it was stated that the apps and prefs that are “complete” could be shown running on R5
And DW has provided some various screenshots of the appserver running on R5, but you have to hunt for them.
Some bochs shots of the kernel and shell loading/loaded might be nice.
I dunno - maybe you’re right… and it’s not worth posting all that stuff if the Haiku app server isn’t finished yet.

The last update on 21st March included two screenshots:
First running the Haiku app_server on r5
Second running the Haiku app_server natively under Haiku
Many thanks to Michael Lotz (mmlr) for providing these screenshots… its been a while since osnews featured a story, should we link 'em ?[/img]

I’ve already submitted my writeup of this for HaikuNews to OSNews, hopefully they’ll cover it. You can submit it again if you want, might increase its chances…
