Real medias?

Hello,

Would it be possible to use Helix sources (Opensource Real Player for Unix) to make the haiku MediaPlayer able to read (and why not write) Real medias ?

Slight problem there: Helix Player uses closed, binary codecs to play Real. The Real codecs are still closed. Hence it’d be no easier than porting over mplayers binary codecs support and it’d still be x86 only.

AFAIK, the reason we haven’t got binary codec support in BeOS atm is due to the lack of mmap - wth Haiku that should be sorted so it might be possible to get suport for these binary codecs in Haiku,
