He didn’t do the original port. That was done by one of the pkgsrc developers.

Someone ported NetBSD pkgsrc to Haiku? O.o

Yeah, I remember reading about it in that article now… however its still good to know its being kept up some at least and seems to be good for building packages of some software like QT and others as well.
